Experimental Eye-Liner: Bold Liquid Liner.



You can never go wrong with a classic winged liner, never! But I decided to jazz mine up a little bit. I opted for using a bold bright colour liner instead of a black. I was a tad worried blue might look strange with my blue eyes but I really love it. 




The Liner. 


It is surprisingly difficult to find a nice coloured liner, that isn't gel (I'm not a fan of gel liners). I found this one in Penney's (or Primark) of all places, for €1.50 - winning! 

Other products I would recommend using are Soap and Glory's "Thick and Fast" mascara and Essence "Big Bright Eyes," in order to really make your eyes pop with this liner.

So everybody loves tumblr. I'll admit, it's great for art ideas, decoration, style ideas, and just generally things which are nice to look at. But tumblr, like many social networks, also has a dark side. As many of you who use tumblr already know there is some unusual pages, which is good, it's always nice to see variety in blogs and there is something for everyone. Although, there is some pages on tumblr which are perhaps indulgent, and encouraging the wrong things. Some that I have seen include pro-self harm pages, pro ana/mia (ana being anorexia and mia being bulimia). pages, which is frankly disgraceful. Luis Quiles, Social Media and Sexism

Luis' work popped up on my tumblr newsfeed a while back and I really loved it. I'm always fascinated by things which seem shocking and offensive but Luis' work evidently has a much deeper purpose. Undoubtedly his work is shocking but offers a very interesting critique of society and modern cultural phenomenons.  I've recently being covering some interesting material on biopolitics, a Foucaltian idea. Whereby an individual is governed by a variety of different things such as media, technologies, educations etc. By governed I mean regulated or controlled so to speak. Interestingly I have been focusing on media as a means of regulating.  In relation to Luis Quiles work I think it's interesting to consider how some social medias and online medias regulate gender roles and simultaneously sexism.  This second image I found extremely interesting.
