Harumi-Hironaka

Image
São Paulo-based painter Harumi-Hironaka has some fantastic work. I stumbled across her work when trying to find an artist for a painting I had saved for a very long time on my phone.  Harumi has some really dark, erotic and interesting work. The majority of her work I've seen is portraits of women but as you can see they are all gorgeous.  You can find her on Instagram @harumi_hironaka or her website  where you can buy prints.

Introducing: John Baldessari

Image
I discovered artist John Baldessari a few weeks ago when having a stumble through Tumblr. I was really fascinated by his work. An exceptional talent, John is 83 years old at present and living in America.  I was really intrigued by his artwork. It's extremely simple and clean. However I suppose when I initially saw his pieces I was interested in the affect removing the faces creates for a viewer. To a large extent it is what you might consider dehumanizing. His work is undoubtedly thought provoking to say the least which is why I decided to share it.

Introducing: Luis Dourando

Image
I stumble across the artist Luis Dourando recently when looking for some inspiration. It's difficult to explain why but I am very drawn to his work. Whether it's the playful merging or collage. I'm particularly drawn to the portraits which remove the face - unquestionably there a lot of potential interpretations.  I've grouped a selection of his artwork by I suppose some level of a category. I've picked a view images I was just particularly interested in.  This section I based upon landscapes.  This second section I based upon portraits. (All images from Google Images)
